Design and Display

The Xiaomi 13 Ultra is undeniably a premium phone. The ceramic back feels luxurious and is surprisingly grippy, while the metal frame adds a touch of class. The camera module is the centerpiece of the design, with its large, circular lenses that scream. The display is equally impressive. It’s a 6.73-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and QHD+ resolution. Colors are vibrant, blacks are deep, and the brightness is fantastic, even in direct sunlight. Whether you’re watching videos, gaming, or just browsing the web, the display is a joy to behold.

Camera

Now, let’s get to the star of the show: the camera. The 13 Ultra boasts a quad-camera system, co-engineered with Leica. The main sensor is a massive 50MP unit with a 1-inch sensor, while the ultrawide and telephoto cameras are also 50MP each. There’s even a 120x zoom periscope lens, which is perfect for capturing those far-away shots.

So, how are the photos? In a word, stunning. The Xiaomi 13 Ultra takes some of the best smartphone photos we’ve ever seen. The detail is incredible, the colors are accurate, and the low-light performance is phenomenal. The Leica color profile gives photos a natural, film-like look that we really dig.

Performance and Battery Life

The 13 Ultra is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, and it’s no slouch. The phone is blazing fast, and we didn’t experience any lag or slowdown, even when running multiple apps at once.

Battery life is also excellent. The 5000mAh battery easily lasts a full day on a single charge, even with heavy use. And when it does run low, the 120W fast charging can top it up in just over 20 minutes.

Software

The 13 Ultra runs on MIUI 14, which is based on Android 13. MIUI is a heavily customized version of Android, and it can be a bit cluttered for some users. However, it’s packed with features, and we found it to be relatively stable.
